Decisions, decisions. By God’s grace and sovereignty, He has placed the success or failure of our spiritual lives and destinies in our own hands…
“I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” (Galatians 5:16)
“Be very careful, then, how you live — not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.” (Ephesians 5:15-18)
“And God is FAITHFUL; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.” (1 Corinthians 10:13)
So…when we give into temptation and go the way of the world, we are not helpless victims — but rather willing accomplices — because He has given us what we need for victory — if we really want victory on God’s terms more than we want failure on our terms.
