“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much…”
(Luke 16:10)

I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?”
(John 3:12)

It seems the Lord was showing me that these verses can refer to how we manage and steward and understand TIME. He gives us TIME in this temporal world and watches to see how we will use it. And if we do well (according to His idea of “well”), then He is ready to entrust us with heavenly, eternal things!

Sometimes, when we experience God’s tangible Presence, Eternity invades our temporal reality and TIME seems to disappear, as it is overwhelmed and displaced by His eternal, infinite Glory. And as we experience Him like this, everything in our lives begins to be transformed. But if we want to experience this infusion, we need to approach and esteem temporal TIME rightly — by spending a lot of it on Him, being willing to lavish Him with one of the few types of CURRENCY that really impresses Him — our TIME.

“Forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:13-14)

The enemy will do anything he can to keep us dwelling on the past — but Jesus is calling us FORWARD and UPWARD to our true destiny! And this destiny is often something we must fight for (in our thoughts and emotions) and choose daily. BUT IT IS SO WORTH IT!!!

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a LIVING HOPE through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade — kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in ALL KINDS OF TRIALS. These have come so that your FAITH — of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire — may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.” (1 Peter 1:3-8)

“Joyful, joyful, we adore Thee,
God of glory, Lord of Love!
Hearts unfold like flowers before Thee,
Opening to the sun above!
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness,
Drive the dark of doubt away.
Giver of immortal gladness,
Fill us with the Light of day!

All Thy works with joy surround Thee!
Earth and Heaven reflect Thy rays!
Stars and angels sing around Thee,
Center of unbroken praise!
Field and forest, vale and mountain,
Flowery meadow, flashing sea!
Singing bird and flowing fountain,
Call us to rejoice in thee!!!!!!!”

Loving people with “1 Corinthians 13” LOVE is as much a miracle
as raising someone from the dead.
We must have God’s Power and Presence
operating in and through us to do either one.
And that only happens when we surrender ourselves
completely to Him.

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another;
as I have loved you, that you also love one another.”

(John 13:34)

“Forsaking all other lovers, so long as you both shall live…”

A lot of people equate HOLINESS with purity. And I think purity is marvelous and necessary — but it seems to me that purity, as wonderful as it is, is merely a beautiful symptom of what true holiness really is: radical, exclusive PASSION for Jesus.

I know that there are times when we just have to be militant and war against our fleshly appetites and not let them win, because we know it is the right thing to do. But the BEST times are when we are so in love with Him that other “lovers” just aren’t an option.

One day, a while back, I was standing in my kitchen, and suddenly, for just one second, something like a portal opened up before me and it revealed the heart of Jesus.  Of course, it was very passionate. But the the thing that overwhelmed me was how vulnerable and sensitive His heart was. I fell to my knees, overcome at this revelation of how vulnerable He makes Himself to us — that He desires intimacy so greatly with us that He would open Himself so much to being hurt by us.

And He calls us to this same vulnerable intimacy.
