Want God to take the ORDINARY WATER of your life
and transform it into GLORIOUS WINE?
“Do whatever He tells you.” (John 2:5)

“God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.” (1 Cor 10:13)

This is really good news! We have GRACE (Godly empowerment) to win every time temptation comes to us. GRACE to not give in to unforgiveness, GRACE to not look at porn, GRACE to not get drunk or do illicit drugs, GRACE to not have sex outside of a godly marriage covenant, GRACE to not give in to greed or materialism or racism…GRACE to not settle for anything less than God’s best for us!

The key is to not be unbelieving or fatalistic, but to believe that the Beautiful One who created us out of nothing and redeemed us with His own blood is more than able to empower us to pass every test, just as He promised!

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord ,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 7:21)

So…you’re smoking weed and partying like the world on Saturday — and raising “holy hands” and zealously shouting the name of Jesus on Sunday (or at house church). But holiness is not a club you join, it is a life you live.

Playing this double-lifestyle game is dangerous to a person’s eternal health. If we really want to change, He is waiting for us with open arms. But if we continue to play games with the Living God, we will one day learn that this is a game we cannot win.

It has been said that love is a CHOICE we make. And in many ways, so is HOLINESS. Yeah, Jesus did the heavy lifting (on the Cross) — and the Holy Ghost lives in us and empowers us — but He did not make us ROBOTS who always do the right thing, no matter what. We are continually being given the GRACE we need to walk in holiness — but we must CHOOSE to walk in that grace at every crossroads — and each choice has its own unique set of CONSEQUENCES, good or bad.

“But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.” (Galatians 5:16)
“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?”

(1 Corinthians 6:19)

I believe the practical outworking of this is to simply learn how to hear the voice of God, and then to regularly listen for Him and do whatever He says.

That means we don’t have to be brilliant or exceedingly clever — just ATTENTIVELY AVAILABLE.  This, IMO, is a big part of the “crucified life” — to regularly, throughout our day, pay the emotional price of unplugging from our inner monologues and to-do lists and distractions and connect with Holy Spirit and seriously listen for whatever ways He might want to tweak or overhaul our plans/goals for that moment or that day — and enter into what I call “the adventure of Holy Ghost improv.”

He might tell you to pray for that person next to you in the check-out line.  Or to share the Good News of Jesus with the guy in the next cubicle.  Or forgive your brother.  Or…

He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.” (Mark 16:15-16)

Universalism is a deception — and whoever teaches it is deceived. Only those who actually CHOOSE Jesus as God and Lord and Savior will be saved.  The “Great Commission” was given because there was actually a need for it.  There was a need for the “already saved ones” to co-operate with the Holy Spirit so that others could be saved as well.  That is why the Holy Spirit came — to empower us to be His witnesses throughout the earth.  And we waste a great miracle and grace if we do not.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

Here’s a short vid I made about true intimacy…
