Be prepared.

“Always be PREPARED to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” (1 Peter 3:15)

I believe our testimonies are one of the main ways God has chosen to shine His Light into the darkness of this world. And one useful way to be prepared is to take time to write out a 2 – 4 minute version of our testimony (the wonderful way God led you out of darkness) and to practice sharing it.  You might even take an evening at your home group to practice sharing your testimonies with each other, so that you won’t feel so awkward when you share with unbelievers. Just a thought.

“You are the LIGHT of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light SHINE before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16)

The whole thing about true, God-infused, blood-bought LIFE is that it stands out.  It’s supposed to — not in a show-off sort of way, but in a VIBRANT way.  This world is full of death and dying.  And the only hope these “living dead” have is if those who are ALIVE allow the LIFE that is in them to break out and be experienced.
