“This Child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many…”  (Luke 2:34)

Revolutions are always messy. Ever wonder why the PRINCE OF PEACE came and died for the sins of the world and still there is much turmoil and lack of PEACE in the world? That’s because He did not come to bring unconditional PEACE. It was a specific type of PEACE that He offered — and not a utopian, world-wide, political PEACE. His PEACE is only for those who are willing to make PEACE with God.

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth PEACE to men on whom His favor rests.”
(Luke 2:14)

“PEACE I leave with you; My PEACE I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.” (John 14:27)

Promoting or pursuing any kind of PEACE is good — but the PEACE Jesus is talking about is the kind of PEACE we must primarily labor for and lead people to — not a temporal, passing PEACE, but an eternal, unshakable PEACE.

“Blessed are the PEACEmakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” (Matthew 5:9)

Here’s a short video I made about the Christmas season.
Hope it blesses you!
(I made it a few years ago, so the dates in it are…uh…dated,
but I think the main idea is still fresh)

Here’s a very short vid I made for Christmas —
about slowing down and finding peace during the holidaze!

Here’s a very short video I made based on John 1:1 and the glory of the Incarnation.
My little Christmas gift to you.

grinch - LW

Which GRINCH is trying to steal your Christmas?  Maybe it’s the Grinch of Unforgiveness.  Maybe it’s the Grinch of Bitterness or Resentment.  Regardless of which Grinch it is, we don’t have to let him get away with it!  Because of Jesus’ victory on the Cross, and His Presence in us, we have been given the strength to really let go of these things and be healed — such a wonderful Christmas Gift that is.

“Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” (Colossians 3:13)

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)

“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” (2 Corinthians 9:8)

Here is a very short video I made about Christmas.
I hope you will watch it — it’s my heart for you during this season.

A short, fun little vid I made about the real meaning of Christmas.   Enjoy!

“This Child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many…”
(Luke 2:34)

Revolutions are always messy.  Ever wonder why the Prince of Peace came and died for the sins of the world and still there is much turmoil and lack of peace in the world?  That’s because He came to bring peace — but not unconditional peace.

I do not give to you as the world gives.”
(John 14:27)

“Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.  For I have come to turn “a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law — a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.”
(Matthew 10:34-36)

Our goal must never be to merely be controversial, or aggressive or argumentative. But we also have to remind ourselves of this great truth. Even when we share the love and truth of Jesus with some people, they will still reject God — and us. You will never be able to “please all the people all the time.” He told us this very clearly.

“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated Me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. Remember the words I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed My teaching, they will obey yours also. They will treat you this way because of My name, for they do not know the One who sent me.” (John 15:18-21)
