“I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever;” (John 6:51)

What are you most hungry for? Where are your hungers and desires taking you? Whatever we are most hungry for will define our lives (You are what you eat!).  Hunger is as hunger does. Whatever we make time for in our lives is a good litmus test of what our true hungers and desires are.  I remember years ago thinking about prayer and fasting, and God told me that the day I wanted Him more than I wanted food, I would fast.

“It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'” (Matthew 4:4)

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” (Matthew 5:6)

Now is the time to press in for more of Him. No other food will sustain us in these days.

“And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God,
with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.”

(Ephesians 4:30)

To avoid sin only because of its self-destructive
consequences is to create a me-centered Gospel.
The main reason we should not sin
is because it grieves the heart of God.

And a wonderful way to celebrate Valentine’s Day
would be to walk in the Grace He has given us (1 Corinthians 10:13)
and resist temptation because we love Jesus so much!

Nothing in this world (concerning the human race) is ever just physiological or psychological. At the core of every issue is a spiritual reality. And that is why merely physical and psychological and educational and political methods will never be enough to deliver humanity from its many problems.

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood…” (Ephesians 6:12)

“‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty.” (Zechariah 4:6)

DIVINE FOCUS - LOON WATCHMAN BLOG.jpg

Divine focus. Everyone I admire had/has it. The ability to stay focused on Jesus and the Kingdom, and to keep these as their priorities, in the midst of many trials and distractions.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33)
