“Rejoice always, PRAY WITHOUT CEASING, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-19)

A great way to flow naturally into “praying without ceasing” is to take your inner monologue — that inner flow of thoughts that seems so personal and hidden — and remind yourself that there is One who is listening to your thoughts at all times.  And since this is true, why not turn this inner monologue into a dialogue and openly share it with Him?

It may be a little scary at first, but when thoughts are brought into the Light, many things change for the better — including the healing of your mind and heart!

“There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” (The Apostle Paul)

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” (Reverend Martin Luther King)

The lens we must ALWAYS and ONLY look through to see other people is the lens of Jesus Christ.  But when we decide to avoid or reject people who don’t act or look like us, we are denying the transforming power of the Blood of Jesus — as well as the New Creation that all true Christians have become.  And this is a challenge to people of ALL ethnicities, colors and cultures.

When you give more weight to a person’s arguments because they look like you (White, Black, Hispanic, Asian or whatever), you have denied the power of the Gospel and cast aside the lens and wisdom of Christ. When you decide that a person is a criminal or is guilty or innocent of a crime merely because of that person’s color or ethnicity, or because they have hurt someone of your own color or ethnicity, you deny the power of the Gospel.

Because the only true and lasting distinction among people is their ETERNAL DESTINY AND NATURE – and in light of eternity, all other distinctions will be forever erased:

“You are worthy to take the scroll,
And to open its seals;
For You were slain,
And have redeemed us to God by Your blood
Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
And have made us kings and priests to our God;
(Revelation 5:9-10)

The temporal things of this worldly life are inevitably eroding over time.  And if our hearts are attached to them, our hearts will erode along with them. So…

“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things ABOVE, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things ABOVE, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, WHO IS YOUR LIFE(!), appears, then you will also appear with Him in GLORYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!” (Colossians 3:1-4)

“For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” This is a profound mystery — but I am talking about Christ and the Church. However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.  (Ephesians 5:31-33)

Marriage is not something humans invented. It is a divine mystery emanating from the heart of God. And defining marriage as a union between a man and a woman is not about hate.  Rather, it is eternally important Truth — Truth that is meant to bless all humanity.  Because marriage is not merely about humans and human love.  It is meant to point beyond mere human relationships to a more essential and awesome reality and destiny and union — the union between the Bridegroom and the Bride.
